Citi India Launches New Cards For The Rich And Super Rich

Citibank India has unveiled two new credit card products aimed at the country's "rich and super rich."

The new cards, Citi Prestige and Citi Ultima Infinite, are expected to increase the bank's average card spend by capturing India's continuously growing wealthy market. 

Citi Prestige is aimed at high net worth individuals and is available with annual fees of Rs20,000. Frequent travelers will get benefits in excess of the fees through flight discounts, luxury hotel and dining vouchers and complimentary access to airport lounges around the world, among others. India is the ninth country where Prestige has been launched after its initial unveiling in the US in 2013.

Citi Ultima Infinite, an upgrade to the exclusive Citi Ultima card, is offered by invitation only, with cardholders gaining access to a dedicated lifestyle manager. Besides India, Infinite is also offered in Hong Kong and Singapore and will be launched in other Asian markets in the next months. 

According to , around three-fourths of incremental consumer spending will be attributed to emerging markets by 2020, with consumer spending in Asia expected to overtake North America.
